Are you tired of painfully living a numbing life? Yes?! Then, wake up from the autopilot trans, start living Your Life and create your Happy New Year. Read on to remember how…
Most people live the lives other people tell them to live. They live the lives that someone other than themselves say they should live.
They do what they have been trained to do or, as Don Miguel Ruiz says, what they have been “domesticated” to do, so well that now as adults they continue to allow others to dictate what they should or should not think, believe, feel, and do. As adults they continue to live others’ lives, not their own. And, because it is not their lives they are living, they have learned to tune out life itself in order to survive. They learn to live on autopilot and have fallen into an autopilot trans, living the same day over and over again. Does this sound familiar? It probably does. If not you, you more than likely know people who live this way.
I wonder if this generation’s fascination with zombies stems from the fact that most people feel like zombies, dead inside, roaming around the world with no direction, no purpose, no meaning, just looking for the next thing or person to eat. These zombies are many times described as the “undead.” They are dead but yet they are not. They are walking around, eating anything or anybody they come across, but they are definitely not alive, either. Do you feel like a zombie sometimes, most of the time?
Have you heard of people experiencing a life threatening illness or having other near death experiences say that these experiences were the best thing that happened to them or that they are grateful for these experiences because these experiences “woke” them up?
My husband, Joe, was one of those people. At age 18, Joe fought death itself and won. He had beaten death and was since not afraid of living, even with the chronic illness he was diagnosed with at the time.
As horrible as that experience and his illness were, he gave thanks to the fact that they had woken him up to see the beauty, the opportunity, and the blessing that life was. He made a decision to not waste it, but on the contrary, make the best of it and enjoy it, He made the active choice to find meaning and purpose and help as many people as he could while he was here.
I could not understand this at first. Seeing his agony and excruciating pain, I could not understand how he could be thankful. But, he was right! These were life changing events that opened his eyes to the awareness that there was nothing to fear and that he was in control of his life and, most definitely, the way he saw it. Without a doubt, this world is a better place, not just thanks to him haven’t been in it, but, thanks to him having been awaken, having made the intention to make a difference, and having done what it took to make that difference.
Do you feel like you are dead inside? Do you feel numb? Do you feel like you are just an observer trapped inside your body but not in control? Do you feel like your body and your mind together with your life have been highjacked by someone or something else who is calling the shots? Do you feel like a zombie, dead inside?
Do you think, “How can I even think that things could be any different if they have always been this way?” Well, if you continue to think and act the same way, you will continue to get the same results. You need to think and act differently to get different results.
Don’t wait until you get a chronic disease or a near death experience. After the diagnosis or accident, you may not have enough time and/or health or energy to do the things you would like to do before you die. You may not have 21 years like Joe had or you may not get a second chance at all.
Make it your New Year’s Resolution to wake up from your Zombie Autopilot Trans and make this New Year a Happy New Year. This is how…
Start Again, Not Over. Start living a SANO Way of Life…
ATTENTION
Yes, paying attention is the first step to waking up from the zombie autopilot trans. Pay attention to life itself. Open your eyes. Do not be afraid. What is the worst that could happen? You have already been dead all this time anyway. Wake up from the autopilot trans, and start living the life you were meant to live – your own.
See and ask yourself the following:
-
See where you are. And, ask yourself, “Is this where I want to be?”
-
If yes, are you sure? This is not the time to lie to yourself. You have been doing this all your life and look where it has taken you. It is time to be honest with the most important person in your life. It is time to be honest with your True Authentic Self. Yes, that Self that you have been lying to when you have not been ignoring it.
-
If not, where would you like to be?
-
-
See who you are with. Is this who you would like to be with?
-
If yes, are you sure?
-
If not, who would you like to be with?
-
-
See what you are doing. Is this what you would like to continue doing?
-
If yes, are you sure?
-
If not, what would you like to be doing?
-
Are you living the life you want to live, your own life?
Or, are you living the life someone else wants you to live, someone else’s life?
INTENTION
Now, what do you want? Yes, what do YOU WANT? Do you want to continue living this way, where you are, with the people you are with, doing the things you are doing now? Or, do you want to wake up and start living a different life, the life you have always wanted to live, the life you know you were meant to live – your own life, where you want to be, with whom you want to live, doing the things you want to do? It is your choice, yes, YOUR CHOICE!
Set the intention to continue living the life you are living or set the intention to start living the life you want live. Setting an intention is taking a stance. It is making a decision to not just wake up but to get up. It is taking responsibility of your own life. Make the intention to stop existing in a zombie autopilot trans.
ACTION
Taking action is taking control of your life. Stop hiding behind and free yourself from the would’ve’s, could’ve’s and should’ve’s that have chained you to live someone else’s life and fall into the zombie autopilot trans all this time. Take action and start living the life you are here to live, the life you were born to live, the life where you are happy, YOUR LIFE.
You have the ability, the capability, and the responsibility to live your life. Start by writing down your intention, your agreement/contract with your Self. Start with…
I, (your full name), in this day, (the date) and from this day forward, make the intention, the choice and the commitment to start living MY LIFE in the following way…
(Write it as many clauses as you can think of. This is an important contract. Therefore, write it as detailed as possible as to what you want your life to look like.)
-
Mentally (thoughts),
-
Emotionally (feelings),
-
Physically (health, weight),
-
Spiritually (faith beliefs and practices),
-
Personally (location, hobbies and habits),
-
Socially (community memberships),
-
Relationally (romantic partners, friends, and family),
-
Professionally (job, career, business), and
-
Financially (monthly and annual income).
Write your agreement/contract in the present tense, as if you were living it already. Feel it. Taste it. Touch it. Smell it. Live it.
Sign your agreement/contract and date it.
Now, you may choose to do one of the following that feels right to you, that you feel will seal the agreement/contract with your Self and the universe):
-
Frame your contract and display it in a place in your home where you will see it first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
-
Burn your contract and bury the ashes or spread them into a river or an ocean, sharing your contract with the universe.
Now, carry out your contract! Take action. Remember. You can have the best of intentions. But, unless you take action. Nothing will change. Taking action is taking control. Steer your life in the direction you want it go, in the direction it was meant to go all along. Start making the choices and taking the steps to live that life.
Choose what you want to do and do it. Make sure they are your choices, not someone else’s. You can choose:
-
Where you want to be;
-
Who you want to be with;
-
What you want to do;
-
To take small steps;
-
To do one thing at a time;
-
To start new;
-
To build upon;
-
To use your already existing actions and habits;
-
To create new actions and habits;
-
To write your action steps; and even
-
To create a Life Plan, just like you would create a Business Plan.
